Education, in the broad sense, includes all activities aimed at influencing an individual’s thinking, character, and physical development in a specific way. From a technical perspective, education is the process through which specific knowledge is acquired, skills and abilities are developed, and values (such as ethics, honesty, integrity, a sense of justice, dedication, professionalism, responsibility, etc.) are formed.
The goals of education vary from country to country and from era to era. Modern education does not have clearly defined objectives due to rapid development; however, the following goals are generally accepted:
Structured Education
Education is based on specific methods (theoretical teaching, demonstration, assignments, practical training, etc.), following a specially designed program with clear learning objectives, and is time-bound.
Skills Development
Equipping young people with knowledge and skills according to their abilities, so they can acquire what is necessary for life and contribute to the further development of the national economy.
Adaptability Development
The effort to make young people capable of adapting to changing social and economic conditions.
Character Formation
Character formation will help young people in their relationships with others.
Culture
The transmission and perhaps the enhancement of national culture.
